Everyone wants fresh produce! But how do you know where your fruits and vegetables are really coming from? At Horse Creek Farms, the best little farm stand in Oregon, you can count on quality and taste.
What Makes Horse Creek Farms the Best Oregon Farm Stand?

Willamette Valley locals know where to find the best farm stand in Oregon. Horse Creek Farms is special to everyone who frequents it, recognized for exceptionally fresh products and a friendly atmosphere.
At this special farm, the fruits, vegetables, and meat are grown on site, carefully tended by the owners, Sheri and Aart Falk. The Falks have lived and worked the land for decades. They know the soil and how to get the best results from their efforts. As a result, Horse Creek Farms has become recognized across the valley as the best Oregon farm stand.
In today’s world, it’s a foreign concept for stores to actually grow the things they sell. But at this Oregon farm stand, they take pride in raising the fruits, vegetables and meat they sell. With the exception of a few products, (which are all local) everything comes from the land the farm stand sits on.

At Horse Creek Farms, you’ll find local produce tended and sold by locals. When you walk in, you are immediately greeted by a friendly face who can tell you all about the products in the stand, as well as facts about this beautiful agricultural area of the state.
Horse Creek Farms Products
Starting in June, Horse Creek Farms opens with tantalizing bright red strawberries. They are one of the fastest sellers. If you’ve never had Oregon strawberries, you need to head to this farm stand in the beginning of June. Their strawberries are bright red, large, and the sweetest thing you will ever taste, but that’s only one of the reasons we vote Horse Creek Farms the best Oregon farm stand.
Once the (unfortunately) short strawberry season is over, it’s time for raspberries, marionberries, and hull berries. Shortly after that, peaches, tomatoes, zuchinni, onions, pepper, plums, and nectarines appear in the farm stand.

Next comes a farm favorite, corn! Then, it’s fall, and a myriad of varieties of apples, in just about every color, begin to ripen on the trees. Along with the apples are pears, and Asian pears (my favorites!) Squash and pumpkins accompany the late varieties of apples and sweet, crisp, apple cider suddenly fills the large coolers in the farm stand.
Different types of farm grown meat is available throughout the entire season. All the animals are raised onsite and are all happy and healthy. Horse Creek Farms offers several delicious cuts, from ground beef to steaks, as well as beef boxes with 20 pounds of assorted beef cuts.

Pork boxes are available too, and are 20 pounds of assorted sausage, bacon, pork chops and more. Whole chickens are also available for purchase, and from first hand experience, I can say they blow store bought chickens out of the water!
As if they needed another reason to be ranked the best farm stand in Oregon, this year, the farm stand also offers lamb as well as jerky made from their home-grown meat. The beef jerky and sticks are a hot product, and for good reason, they’re delicious!

Horse Creek Farms is open seasonally, beginning with strawberries typically in the beginning of June, and closing in the fall with Halloween being the last day of the season. According to demand, Horse Creek Farms will open during the off season on occasional Fridays for meat sales. Be sure to follow the Facebook page to see potential dates on this.

Horse Creek Farms does offer U-pick of certain fruits. Strawberries are a main product for U-pick. If you don’t mind getting down and dirty in the hard work of strawberry picking, it is a great way to save some money. Just be sure to bring your own containers. For other U-pick fruits, it depends on availability, so be sure to ask.
If you are also looking for a sweet treat, plan your visit on a Friday or Saturday, and pick up some baked goods from the country bakery that is practically next door to the farm stand. To make a day out of it, visit Thompson Mills for a historical museum visit, then stop by Horse Creek Farms and the Country Bakery.
