Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure in EPCOT is nearly a clone of Disney’s Paris version, and opened with the 50th anniversary celebration of Walt Disney World. During our recent trip to Florida’s House of Mouse, we got to experience Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure in EPCOT for the first time.
Here is what we experienced, what we recommend, and our opinions on the newest World Showcase ride.
Where Is Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure in EPCOT?
As stated above, Remy can be found in EPCOT. More specifically, the ride is tucked away in a small addition to the Paris Pavilion in the World Showcase.
When you arrive at Paris, a small walkway on the right-hand side of the pavilion will bring you through quaint Paris streets, away from the restaurants and behind the main drag.
Small mopeds wait outside the small shop facades. Soon a large fountain comes to view. Above the fountain a sizeable, lit-up Remy’s sign will let you know you have arrived.
On the right-hand side is the standby queue, which can wrap through the Paris streets and end by the river during peak travel times.
On the left-hand side is the Lightning Lane queue. This queue is a bit challenging to find at times. The sign is small, and each time we found large groups of people blocking the entrance while they tried to decipher the Lighntning Lane experience.

How to Ride Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure EPCOT
First, you’ll need to pick your corresponding line, and join the queue with your group. As mentioned above, Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure in EPCOT has two queue lines, as do the majority of rides in Disney World.
If you have a Lightning Lane reservation (Multi Pass), you will queue to the left, and if you are in the standby queue, you’ll find that on the right hand side of Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure in EPCOT.
On busy days, a large portion of the standby queue will be outside, but don’t fret. Most of the queue is in some form of shade, and the majority of it does take place inside in air conditioning.
The entire Lightning Lane queue will be in the A/C.
The queue leads you through enlarged portions of Paris rooftops, and soon you will discover you are viewing the world from the perspective of a rat, like Remy and his family.
As you approach the loading platforms for the ride, 3-D glasses will be given to you for a better ride experience.
Once at the loading platform, you will notice the rat shaped ride vehicles dancing about as they automatically position themselves for guests to board.
You see, Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure in EPCOT does not have a track system. The ride is trackless, similar to Mickey and Minnie’s Runaway Railway in Hollywood Studios.
The cute little rat-shaped ride vehicles move around reminiscent to the way a Roomba vacuum navigates your house, but more precisely.
Each ride vehicle, which seats up to 6, automatically maneuvers to the loading platforms, through the ride and back again, without assistance.
Also, did I mention that each vehicle has a series of unique paths to follow? This means that each time you ride this ride, it may be slightly different.
Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure in EPCOT comes in at just under 5 minutes long.
Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure Review
During our last trip to Walt Disney World, I had the opportunity to use Lightning Lane to ride Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure in EPCOT not once, but twice. I will say, my opinions differ based on which time I experienced it.
The first time I rode Remy’s my thoughts were along the lines of “cute,” and “underwhelming.” I had done reading on the ride before the trip and knew what to expect.
I had also watched endless YouTube videos reviewing the ride and its advanced technology when it debuted in Paris. But to be honest, I was a bit underexcited.
It does not help that I had ridden Mickey and Minnie’s Runaway Railway in Hollywood Studios in 2020. This ride utilizes the same technologies, and ride systems, but a little bit better. It was developed after Remy’s, and was able to use mistakes made in Remy to improve on the technology.
Don’t get me wrong, Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure in EPCOT is fun, but it is just that. It is not thrilling, but it is fun, and a bit surprising.
On my second trip through the rooftops and kitchens of Paris with Remy, I was able to appreciate the ride a bit more, and found myself enjoying the fun in it.
In the ride, you follow Remy on an adventure through the kitchen to avoid being caught by Chef Skinner. You are essentially shrunk down to rat size, which means you now see the world in a whole new way.
My second time allowed me to spend time looking at the details and care put into the plot, the show scenes, and how flawlessly the vehicles separate, and return together to give each a slightly unique but equal view of the show scenes.
Each scene showcases Remy’s personality, and you really feel like you are a part of the adventure, not just watching it.
It has a similar immersion level to Smuggler’s Run in Hollywood Studios. You feel like you are in the kitchen with Remy, rather than watching the scenes unfold in front of and around you, like in Mickey and Minnie’s Runaway Railway.
Overall, I would recommend going into this ride with no preconceived notions. It is not a thrill ride, so do not expect that, but be sure to fully embrace the fun in it. And, maybe, take some time to immerse yourself in the experience and care put into the details of this ride.

Lightning Lane with Remy
Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure in EPCOT is Lightning Lane eligible. Meaning, if you purchase Lightning Lane Multi Pass prior to your departure or at the beginning of your park day, you are eligible to skip the regular queue and join the much faster and shorter Lightning Lane queue.
In the past, Remy’s was an individual Lightning Lane attraction. Meaning, even if you paid for Multi Pass, the ride was not included and required a separate per guest Lightning Lane purchase.
But, as of May 31, 2022, Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure in EPCOT was removed from Individual status, and remains part of the regular Muti Pass lineup for EPCOT.
Too book the LIghtning Lane for Remy, you will need to purchase a daily Multi Pass for each member of your group, and select Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure in EPCOT as one of the rides when booking your reservations. Remember, you are booking a ride time with a one-hour return window. These return times will vary based on demand, when you book and how quickly they are snatched up.
Then, when you return to the ride during your scheduled time, you will scan your Magicband, MagicMobile, or ticket card at the Lightning Lane entrance and join the shortened Lightning Lane queue.
Motion Sickness with Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure in EPCOT
I hate to say it, but if you are prone to motion sickness, you will probably have a difficult time riding Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure in EPCOT. This ride does feature 3-D glasses and a lot of projections and screens, which give the false sense of moving when you are not.
If you pair that with the real movement that occurs quickly and erratically from one show scene to the next, this ride is the perfect recipe for motion sickness.
If I had to rate this ride for motion sickness in regards to other Disney World rides, I would say it causes a lot more motion sickness than Soarin’, but less than Flight of Passage. I would place it on par with Smugglers Run, for myself.
That all being said, every individual is different. I find myself getting more sick when 3-D glasses are involved. I had no trouble riding Mickey and Minnie’s Runaway Railway, but did feel queasy after each time on Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure in EPCOT.
If 3-D elements do not make you feel sick, and you have ridden Mickey and Minnie’s successfully without illness, then Remy’s may be fine for you. However, my Mom does fine on Mickey and Minnie but had to ride Remy’s with her eyes closed to prevent motion sickness.
If you do get queasy from 3-D elements, this ride may be one you want to skip, or ride without the 3-D glasses. I rode the second time without the glasses and found it much more tolerable.
While you do miss some of the detail without the 3-D glasses, this ride does not rely heavily on 3-D, so it is still enjoyable.
