Disney World’s Boma is one of the most beloved restaurants in the entire resort, and it may be one of the best restaurants in all of the Orlando area.

Boma Reviews: What it’s Like Eating at Boma

Boma is a unique dining experience unlike anything else inside of Disney World. Rather than the typical selections of burgers, steaks, and fries, Boma delivers African inspired dishes with options for everyone in the family.

Disney World’s Boma offers a relaxing ambiance inside of Animal Kingdom Lodge. The restaurant is as beautiful as the Lodge is, with the opportunity to step outside and see animals grazing about the safari.

What Type of Food is Served at Disney World’s Boma Restaurant?

The Disney World Boma restaurant is served buffet style, with Disney’s motto of “all you care to eat,” rather than “all you can eat.”

This means, you can return to the buffet and sample all your favorite dishes over and over again. With so many food options though, you may not have room for seconds once you’ve tried everything.

Boma’s food consists of African flavors and traditional African dishes, as well as a few classics we all know. Boma serves two meals per day: breakfast and dinner.

Breakfast

Disney World’s Boma breakfast menu does offer some traditional offerings such as pancakes, muffins, fruit salads, and of course, Mickey waffles. Additionally, there are African inspired muffins, sticky buns, and other bakery items.

The Boma breakfast buffet also serves unusual oatmeal options, omelets with traditional and African flavors, various meat carving stations, breakfast potatoes, bacon, sausages, eggs, and more.

Dinner

Disney World’s Boma dinner menu has even more diverse offerings than breakfast. Meat carving stations serve up chicken, striploin, ribs, and lamb. All the meat options are made with traditional seasonings and transport your taste buds straight to Africa.

Additionally, the dinner menu at Boma serves up different rice, couscous, and tabbouleh sides made with African flair. Various traditional salads, and breads accompany the dinner menu as well.

Disney World Boma Review: Restaurant Ambiance

The entire Disney World Boma restaurant is themed to an African marketplace. Brightly covered cloths hang from the ceiling with stained glass lights above each table.

The rest of the restaurant is decorated in rustic wood, with the buffet situated in the front left and the tables stretching out to the large windows.

Boma is airy, well lit, and colorful, which provides a pleasant atmosphere for all ages.

The buffet is well lit and well labeled, making it easy to see what you are putting on your plate, even if you have not heard of the dish before.

The staff are welcoming, accommodating, and prompt in bringing drinks and clearing plates to give you plenty of room.

We have also found servers to be knowledgable about food allergies. Most know and understand which dishes on the buffet are not accommodating to certain allergies and promptly deliver allergy menus when asked. Guests also have the option to speak directly to the chef if there are any questions about food options or a particular allergen.

How Much are Meals at Disney World’s Boma Restaurant

Disney World’s Boma restaurant may be a bit on the pricier side, but you will find it worth every penny. As mentioned above, Boma is served buffet style. While the price may be high, you get a seemingly endless amount of food.

It is important to understand that adults and children do have different pricing structures for breakfast and dinner.

Children under 3 can eat for free at Disney buffets. And children 3-9 are charged the children’s price, while anyone above that age is considered an adult.

From the elevator, take a sharp left and walk through a short hallway to Boma. If you take the stairs, they lead directly to the restaurant.

Do I Need Reservations at Boma?

Because Disney World’s Boma is so popular, we would recommend advanced dining reservations. While they are not a necessity, it can be difficult to get in without an extreme wait during peak times.

Reservations at Boma can be difficult to come by, so we also recommend booking early.
